Galveston is a city and the seat of Galveston County located along the Gulf Coast region in the U.S. , more than 230 acres of coastal wetland/beach dune dune, mound or ridge of wind-blown sand formed in arid regions and along coasts. Dunes are common in most of the great deserts of the world. Often a dune begins to form because material is deposited by the wind as it encounters a bush, a rock, or other obstacle to habitat is protected thanks to help from the National Park Service's Federal Lands to Parks (FLP FLP Family Limited Partnership FLP Follow Up FLP Fiji Labor Party FLP Flashpoint FLP Fast Link Pulse FLP Flameproof FLP Flippase (genetics) FLP Front de Libération de la Palestine FLP Fasting Lipid Profile ) program. The area had recently been used by the Coast Guard. Now it will be protected for park and recreation use for the neighboring community. Valued at more than $4.5 million, the transfer was free under the FLP program.
