Public announcement of TIPs recommended for withdrawal.

Five Technical Information Papers in the Materials Handling and Industrial Engineering subject category are being proposed for withdrawal, due to lack of interest expressed so far in reviewing and maintaining these documents. The Engineering Division Council has recommended that the Materials Handling and Industrial Engineering Committee be disbanded, and these TIPs had been developed initially by this committee.

The current members of the Materials Handling and Industrial Engineering Committee, along with some other TAPPI technical groups that may have had an interest in these TIPs, were notified in November and December 2002 that these would be proposed tot withdrawal unless a member volunteered to chair their reviews by December 31, 2002.

Since no volunteers from these member groups have emerged, this is a public announcement that fine following TIPs will be proposed for withdrawal at the next meeting of the Quality and Standards Management Committee to be held May 14, 2003.

* "PIP 0412-10 "Typical time task values--pulp, paper, converting: lift truck operations"

* TIP 0412-11 "Typical time task values--pulpmill, wood chip handling; unload with skid steer"
