The hundreds of different ways of handling materials are generally classified according to the type of equipment used. and Industrial Engineering subject category are being proposed for withdrawal, due to lack of interest expressed so far in reviewing and maintaining these documents. The Engineering Division Council has recommended that the Materials Handling and Industrial Engineering Committee be disbanded, and these TIPs had been developed initially by this committee. The current members of the Materials Handling and Industrial Engineering Committee, along with some other TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry technical groups that may have had an interest in these TIPs, were notified in November November: see month. and December 2002 that these would be proposed tot withdrawal unless a member volunteered to chair their reviews by December 31, 2002.
