Public Health to hold flu shot clinics.Byline: The Register-Guard Lane County Public Health reminds the community to plan to get flu vaccinations, and it will hold a clinic later this month. The children's vaccine will be offered at immunization clinics on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Flu Line will also include information on children's vaccination availability and possible adult clinic schedule changes. Flu shots are $23 at Lane County Public Health clinics. Pneumonia shots are $35 and are available to those who are 65 years of age and older who have never had one. The following high-risk groups high-risk group Epidemiology A group of people in the community with a higher-than-expected risk for developing a particular disease, which may be defined on a measurable parameter–eg, an inherited genetic defect, physical attribute, lifestyle, habit, are encouraged to get their flu shots early in the season: Anyone over 50, especially those with health problems; residents of long-term care facilities long-term care facility n. Parents of young children are encouraged to have them vaccinated at their medical providers office or at Wednesday walk-in immunization clinics between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the Public Health building, 135 E. Sixth Ave., Eugene. Public Health is able to bill the Oregon Health Plan The Oregon Health Plan is the Oregon state healthcare program for low income residents of Oregon. Eligibility Basic eligibility requires that the applicant be a resident of Oregon, as a citizen or otherwise. and most primary Medicare insurance. Please bring a primary Medicare or Oregon Health Plan insurance information to the clinic. Cash, personal checks and VISA/MasterCard are also accepted. Another immunization choice, for some healthy people between ages of 5 and 49 years, is a nasal-spray flu vaccine The flu vaccine is a vaccine to protect against the highly variable influenza virus.
