Psion Teklogix acquires Symagery Microsystems.

Psion Teklogix, a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection and RFID, has announced it has acquired a leading image capture firm, Symagery Microsystems Inc. based in Ottawa, Canada. Symagery Microsystems Inc. delivers image capture and processing solutions for use in commercial and mobile data collection applications such as transportation, supply chain management, and mobile sales and service. Psion Teklogix currently uses Symagery's solutions in their WORKABOUT PRO and 7535 rugged hand-held computers.

This acquisition broadens Psion Teklogix' product offering and strengthens its core technology capability to the benefit of its customers and partners around the world. Psion Teklogix intends to build on the strong Symagery image capture brand in the market.

The image capture and processing market is a segment of the broader automatic identification and data capture market in which Psion Teklogix is a global leader. The demand for imaging solutions within this market is increasing as enterprises seek the benefits of faster and more accurate data collection at the point where transactions are completed and workers deal with customers or assets.
