The Working Mother 100 Best recognizes the extraordinary commitment to quality of life issues leading corporations have made as a way to retain employees in this competitive workplace. "When Working Mother magazine started the 100 Best list fifteen years ago, editors were hard-pressed to find more than 30 companies that qualified. This year, however, the competition was tougher than ever," said Lisa Benenson, Editor-in-Chief.

"To make this year's list , businesses had to be more creative and proactive in finding ways to accommodate their employees' work/life needs. For this, their commitment and ingenuity is to be commended."
