DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 2001

Proxima Technology Inc., supplier of solutions that improve business services through service-level measurement, reporting and alert notification, today announced support for Microsoft Windows See Windows.

Proxima's Active Adaptor for WMI retrieves management information from Microsoft Windows 2000 and then uses this information to calculate service levels at any given point and alert administrators where service breaches occur.

"WMI is an important development in the systems management industry," said Bernd Hammann, Vice President of R&D for Proxima Technology. "Organizations no longer have to purchase data collectors from third-party management vendors. They no longer have to incur massive implementation costs installing agents on every remote machine running Windows. Microsoft products are essentially self-instrumenting. The issue for organizations today is interpreting this pool of data and being able to take better management actions as a result. For example, correlating information from Microsoft SQL Server A relational DBMS from Microsoft that is a major component of the Windows Server System. It is Microsoft's high-end client/server database and is closely integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio and the Microsoft Office System.  and Exchange to present a picture of service as experienced by users and customers."
