(TM)'s ability to preserve and maintain the viability of skin cells, it has proven to be a strong additive with other protective agents. ProteoCell Laboratories has recently completed a series of tests comparing AAGP(TM) to Co-enzyme Q10 (a strong anti-oxidant) as well as in combination with it. Co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like substrate found in almost every cell of the body. CoQ10 acts as a potent anti-oxidant that protects tissues and organs from oxidative damage.

Previous results have demonstrated AAGP(TM) protective activity against hydrogen peroxide hydrogen peroxide, chemical compound, H2O2, a colorless, syrupy liquid that is a strong oxidizing agent and, in water solution, a weak acid. It is miscible with cold water and is soluble in alcohol and ether.  (H2O2) and ultraviolet radiation (UV-C UV-C Far-UltraViolet ) is present and strong even at low concentrations. The results of the side by side comparisons to CoQ10 and in combination with this anti-oxidant are as follows:

After 48-hours at body core temperature (37 degrees C), the untreated adult skin cells exposed to H2O2 had a 10% survival rate. Cells treated with a low dose of AAGP(TM) had a 30% survival rate as opposed to only an 18% survival rate on cells treated with the maximum concentration of CoQ10. However, using a very low concentration of 5mg/ml of AAGP(TM) and the maximum possible concentration of CoQ10, the cell survivability sur·viv·a·ble

2. That can be survived: a survivable, but very serious, illness.
of H2O2 exposed skin cells was 48%. Using adult skin cells exposed to UV-C radiation after 48-hours at 37 degrees C, the untreated cells had a 5% survival rate. The AAGP(TM) treated cells had a 60% survival rate using only 5mg/ml as opposed to only 12% survival rate of cells treated with CoQ10.

Using the above concentrations, the cell survivability of UV-C exposed skin cells treated with AAGP(TM) and CoQ10 was 77%.

These dramatic results have opened up many additional potential applications for this amazing family of AAGP(TM) molecules.

About ProtoKinetix:

ProtoKinetix Inc. is a scientific development company whose mission is the advancement of human health care. The Company's first entry into the commercial market place will be the launch of the first synthetic age-arresting glycoprotein glycoprotein (glī'kōprō`tēn), organic compound composed of both a protein and a carbohydrate joined together in covalent chemical linkage.  (AAGP(TM)). PKTX has developed a unique business model that brings together a vast pool of world recognized intellectual talent in a networked environment. This integrated scientific approach combines the disciplines of physics, chemistry and molecular biology molecular biology, scientific study of the molecular basis of life processes, including cellular respiration, excretion, and reproduction. The term molecular biology was coined in 1938 by Warren Weaver, then director of the natural sciences program at the Rockefeller  in order to fast track product development in the areas of cell, tissue and organ preservation.
