MedNet Locator, Inc., is offering a new prostheses system that provides a smarter way for hospitals and surgery centers to handle the acquisition of implants. Prostheses can be put into hospitals and surgery centers on a consignment basis and be billed for only as they are replaced. The OR procurement person can either e-mail or fax an order for what has been used. Replacement parts can be express-shipped back to the facility in the quickest and most economical way.

Prosthesis kits can be altered to fit surgeons' needs and preferences. They are designed such that if a surgeon tries a prosthesis and finds he has the wrong length, it can be cleaned, put back into the kit and resterilized with steam or ETO. It is important to keep protheses in their properly labeled slots in the kit to avoid confusion during surgery and when reordering.
