Prosoft Announces Integration of CIW Curriculum Throughout Tennessee Public Education System; Schools Will Get Standardized Curriculum in 2006-2007 Academic Year.


PHOENIX -- Prosoft Learning Corp. (Nasdaq: POSO), a technology learning solutions provider, today announced that the state of Tennessee Department of Education will integrate Prosoft's CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) A program of certification from Prosoft Learning Corporation for professionals specializing in Internet technologies. CIW instructor-led training is offered by authorized training organizations and academic institutions.  certification skills objectives into its redesigned Web design classes. This action will bring the Official CIW Curriculum into about 200 of the state's public secondary schools beginning in the 2006-2007 academic year.

The three courses that high schools will teach are Web Site-Foundations, Web Page Design-Site Designer and Web Page Design-E-Commerce. These courses, which correlate 100 percent to CIW certification standards, will provide students with an advanced skill set when entering post-secondary education or the work force. The Tennessee Department of Education examined all available industry certifications and chose CIW based on industry support.

The integration of CIW curriculum across Tennessee's high schools will bring them into the existing statewide articulation agreement, which was finalized See finalization.  at the university level in April 2004. The articulation agreement now enables high school students to earn college credits toward an associate degree of applied science; those credits can then be transferred toward a bachelor's degree.

Students earn four college credits for each CIW certification exam they pass, giving them the potential to start college with 12 credits. The agreement also stipulates that educators teaching the CIW curriculum and administering the certification exam in Tennessee high schools must be CIW-certified.

Students who pass a CIW certification exam in class will earn an industry-recognized CIW certification. Those who choose not to take a CIW exam at their high schools may take it at a professional third-party testing center that administers CIW exams, such as Thomson Prometric or Pearson VUE Pearson VUE is an electronic testing company owned by British media company Pearson PLC.
