Proposals for Renewable Energy Resources Sought by Sierra Pacific Resources' Nevada Utilities.

"Renewable resources are an integral part of our energy supply strategy," said Tom Fair, renewable energy executive, Sierra Pacific Resources. "We are currently involved in more than 30 renewable energy projects in Nevada and we want to increase that number significantly."

This request is consistent with the companies' ongoing plan to be ahead of the goals of legislation that requires an increasing percentage of the electricity provided by Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company to come from renewable sources. The current standard calls for 20 percent of all the companies' energy to come from renewable resources or energy efficiency measures by 2015.
