Promotion At WGRZ-TV Announced by Gannett.ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1999-- Darryll J. Green has been promoted to president and general manager at WGRZ-TV, the Gannett-owned NBC affiliate in Buffalo, N.Y. He had been vice president/broadcast since March 1997. Green replaces Larry Herbster who announced his retirement recently. The announcement was made by Cecil L. Walker, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Prior to serving as vice president/broadcast, WGRZ, Green was vice president/general manager of WGCI AM/FM AM/FM Amplitude Modulation / Frequency Modulation AM/FM Auto-Mapping/Facilities Management , the previously Gannett-owned radio station in Chicago, since 1994. Green was vice president/station manager for WGCI for four years. He also served as vice president/controller and operation director of WGCI-AM. He began his career with Gannett in 1983 as a senior auditor. Prior to joining Gannett, Green was senior accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in Rochester, N.Y.
