Promotion At WGRZ-TV Announced by Gannett.ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1999-- Darryll J. Green has been promoted to president and general manager at WGRZ-TV, the Gannett-owned NBC affiliate in Buffalo, N.Y. He had been vice president/broadcast since March 1997. Green replaces Larry Herbster who announced his retirement recently. The announcement was made by Cecil L. Prior to serving as vice president/broadcast, WGRZ, Green was vice president/general manager of WGCI AM/FM AM/FM Amplitude Modulation / Frequency Modulation AM/FM Auto-Mapping/Facilities Management , the previously Gannett-owned radio station in Chicago, since 1994. Green was vice president/station manager for WGCI for four years. He also served as vice president/controller and operation director of WGCI-AM. He began his career with Gannett in 1983 as a senior auditor. Prior to joining Gannett, Green was senior accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in Rochester, N.Y.
