Project 2014 promotions committee slogan contest.There were more than 50 entries from 30 members representing 15 UELAC UELAC United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada branches. All were considered independently by the judges Ann Mackenzie M.A., and Alex Arthur Alex Arthur (born June 26, 1978 in Edinburgh) is a professional boxer from Edinburgh, Scotland. Arthur is nicknamed "Amazing" Alex Arthur. He is currently the British, Commonwealth, European (EBU) Super Featherweight champion and interim WBO world champion. M.A. It was interesting that both judges chose the same winners without knowing each other's choices. The winning slogan was submitted by John Warburton UE, President of Toronto Branch and V.P. of Central West Region. His entry, "Loyal Then--Loyal Now--Toujours Fidele" encircles the Association Badge to create our Association logo. The other winner was Robert Wilkins UE, President of Heritage Branch and Association By-Law Chairperson. His entry, Faith-Freedom-Family-Foi-Liberte-Famille" provided the judges with a real challenge and is a praiseworthy praise·wor·thy adj. praise·wor·thi·er, praise·wor·thi·est Meriting praise; highly commendable. praise slogan. A special mention was given to 9-year-old Sarah Hurst UE of Bicentennial bi·cen·ten·ni·al adj. 1. Happening once every 200 years. 2. Lasting for 200 years. 3. Relating to a 200th anniversary. n. A 200th anniversary or its celebration. Also called bicentenary. Branch for her entry, "Honour Your Country by Teaching Its History. Honorez le pays en l'enseignant son histoire". Hers was the only entry from a child and what a fine one it is. All three winners have received a piece of engraved en·grave tr.v. en·graved, en·grav·ing, en·graves 1. To carve, cut, or etch into a material: engraved the champion's name on the trophy. 2. glassware. We hope the slogans will provide the theme for many Branch and Association activities leading up to the celebration of our Centennial in 2014. |
