Progressive Puts Crash Tests Online.


Progressive Corp. is providing Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's crash-test video on its Web site, www.progressive.com. , Isuzu Trooper The Isuzu Trooper was a mid-size SUV produced by the Japanese automaker Isuzu between 1981 and 2002. Adding the crash information to the Web site allows visitors to compare crash test results and auto insurance rates on those vehicles in one place, Bauer said.

The institute's 5-mph crash tests were conducted to assess how well the bumpers resist costly damage in the kinds of impacts that frequently occur in commuter traffic and parking lots. In a series of four front and rear tests at 5 mph, the worst performer overall was the 2000 model Isuzu Trooper with more than $11,000 in damage in the four crash tests.

Collectively, this group of SUY's sustained an average of more than $6,500 in damages as a result of the four crash tests. The institute has been conducting crash tests since 1969 with the goal of getting manufacturers to make better bumpers.
