The Progress Company have announced a free swap deal for Informix A relational database management system (DBMS) from IBM that runs on a variety of Unix platforms. Progress is offering corporate end-users the full trade-in value trade-in value trade nGebrauchtwert m  on their existing Informix licences, up to the value of the new Progrees licences required. For example, an organisation On with an existing Informix database licence that cost $ 100K, who upgrades to the progress RDBMS (Relational DataBase Management System) See relational database and DBMS.

 Enterprise version with a licence that cost $120k, will pay only $20K (plus annual maintenance) for the new licence. In addition developers, including Infomix ISVs can take advantage of free Progress development licences providing full maintenance is paid.
