Progress Software Gives Broder Nearly a Billion Reasons to Use Its OpenEdge(R) Platform.

Leading Wholesale Distributor Increases Online Sales through Web Sites Developed on Progress Technologies

BEDFORD, Mass. -- Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a global supplier of application infrastructure software used to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, announced today that Broder Bros., Co. has standardized its IT operations on the Progress[R] OpenEdge[R] platform in order to manage information, develop applications, consolidate warehousing and distribution facilities, and ensure business continuity.

Broder is a wholesale distributor of imprintable sportswear and accessories, such as golf shirts, hats and fleece jackets, for the promotional products industry in the United States. They needed a system that was easy to deploy, inherently flexible, reliable, and would add value to their business - without adding IT overhead. The selection of the OpenEdge platform allows Broder to meet their needs and run their business on a scalable, high-performance infrastructure that is maintained by only a single database administrator (DBA).

Broder reduced their warehousing, inventory, and distribution costs by consolidating their facilities and using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application from FDM4, and a warehouse management system from IWS (Integrated Warehousing Solutions), both Progress Application Partners who base their applications on the OpenEdge platform.

Fabrico added: "We launched three new online e-commerce sites in early 2007 for our Broder, Alpha, and NES brands. Our customers often have specific products in mind when they visit our online sites, however many requested a better way to search and navigate for products. Ensuring our entire product catalog is easily accessible to all customers was critical to the growth of our business. By deploying the Progress EasyAsk[R] Integrated Search and Online Merchandising platform, we improved the search functionality dramatically resulting in increased web browsers-to-buyers conversion rates"
