 government is funding a mentoring program that will assist young people aged 16 to 18 who are moving from the state care system back into the community. The program, to be run by Whitelion, together with MacKillop Family Services and the Salvation Army Salvation Army, Protestant denomination and international nonsectarian Christian organization for evangelical and philanthropic work. The Salvation Army has established branches in 100 countries throughout the world.
 Crossroads, will provide an adult mentor Mentor, in Greek mythology
Mentor (mĕn`tər, –tôr'), in Greek mythology, friend of Odysseus and tutor of Telemachus.
 to spend at least three hours every two weeks with a young person for a period of six to 12 months. The mentors will help with issues such as budgeting, cooking, finding jobs, education or training (Age, 1/10/04, p.7).
