Program Launched with NYS Senator Malcolm Smith; Kids Bank on Delta Funding Summer Jobs Program.

WOODBURY, N.Y. -- Delta Funding Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Financial Corporation (AMEX: DFC) and New York State Senator Malcolm Smith (D-Queens) today launched the Second Annual Delta Funding Biz Kidz Summer Youth Employment Program at a press conference in front of the Senator's Queens, NY office.

The Biz Kidz Program provides summer jobs to students paid for by national mortgage banker Delta Funding Corporation at 12 local Queens, NY businesses. Seventeen deserving students were chosen by Senator Smith's office - six greater than last year -- to work in various roles at a local law firm, an airline, utility company and others. Delta Funding pays the participants $7.50 per hour. The jobs will end on August 30.

Local Queens, NY bank Carver Federal Savings is, once again, assisting the students with direct deposit checking accounts and automatic teller machine cards for those who fill out an application and open an account. Each participant's salary will be direct deposited into their account each week by Delta Funding.

"Summer jobs are a great way for teens to get a taste of the work world, gain some valuable experience, and earn money for college," said Delta Funding's Vice President of Community Affairs Russell Carter. "It also provides students the opportunity to test potential career paths before committing to them in college," Carter said.

Biz Kidz Summer Job Program participants include: jetBlue Airways, Rockaway Development Revitalization Center, Jamaica Business Resource Center, Greater Allen Cathedral, Joan Flowers, Hopkins, Lawrence and Bailey, Greater Jamaica Development Co., Queens County District Attorney's Office, Health Plus, Allstate, NAACP Day Care Center and the Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
