"Microsoft SNA Server and FUSION FTMS offer reliable, rapid and secured data exchange between 32-bit Windows desktops and IBM mainframes," said Vesa Suomalainen, Microsoft's general manager of the SNA Server product group. "Microsoft and Proginet have made it much easier for IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  customers to adopt Windows 95 and Windows NT, by providing solid integration between Windows desktops and MVS legacy hosts," he added.

FUSION FTMS represents a new generation of advanced file transfer products fully optimized for the new 32-bit Windows environment and the new modern MVS/ESA and OS/390 data centers. It was designed to address the critical issues of reliability, security, ease of administration and cost.

"Back in the 80's, the world was becoming heterogeneous and we designed XCOM to address multiplatform networks. Now, more and more organizations are reducing the number of computing platforms they must manage, and they are looking to establish more homogeneous networks. Proginet's new FUSION FTMS has been designed to address the demanding business requirements of the 90's and can move our customers' mission-critical data right into the 21st century," said Kevin M. Kelly, Proginet's president.
