SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 2000

Proflowers.com today announced the appointment of a seven-member board of directors. The board, which will meet quarterly, will guide the company through its next phases of expansion and development. The board members are:

Joel-Tomas Citron: President and Chief Executive Officer of MasTec, Inc., Mr Citron brings to the Proflowers.com board of directors years of experience running investment companies. Mr. Citron was the managing partner of Triscope Capital LLC, a private investment partnership from January 1998 until December 1998 and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United States subsidiary of Proventus AB, a privately held investment company based in Stockholm, Sweden from January 1992 to December 1997. Mr. Citron was chairman of the board of American Information Systems, Inc. from 1996 until its sale to Exodus Communications in 1999.

Joseph P. Kennedy II: Founder, Chairman and President of Citizens Energy Corporation, a group of for-profit ventures supporting a wide array of social and charitable programs in the U.S. and abroad, Mr. Kennedy has long been a supporter of shortened supply chains for consumers. Mr. Kennedy's ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities led Citizen's Energy to become a widely recognized and profitable innovator. From 1986-1998, Mr. Kennedy served six terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he devised creative and innovative approaches that address social needs.

Arthur Laffer: Founder and Chairman of Laffer Associates, Dr. Laffer is world-renown for his economic acumen and influence. Stephen A. Schutz, PhD: Co-founder of the publishing company Blue Mountain Arts in 1970 with his wife, poet Susan Polis Schutz. Blue Mountain Arts, now known as SPS Studios has designed and published books, greeting cards and calendars that have reached over 500 million people. Dr. Schutz, who has a PhD in theoretical physics, has been captivated by the infinite possibilities of communicating via writing, art, animation, interactive graphics, 3D and music. In 1996, he co-founded and created the electronic greeting card site, BLUEMOUNTAIN.COM, which in two years became one of the top 10 websites in the world.

Bill Strauss: Chief Executive Officer of Proflowers.com, Mr. Strauss has successfully developed and implemented a revolutionary E-commerce business solution that streamlines the direct-from-the-grower business model. Mr. Strauss earlier served as part of the senior management team at ChipSoft, the makers of TurboTax and MacinTax, where he helped to build the infrastructure that supported a growth in annual revenues from $50 million to $750 million over a five-year period.
