, who serves as operations manager at Gump's North Hollywood facility. "I have always reported directly to Barry.

Barry gives people the benefit of the doubt and looks for the good first more than anyone I have ever met. He has a gift at picking good, dedicated people (present company excepted)."

"As long as I've been exposed to him, he has always been a visionary, able to see ahead and willing to take us to the next level," said Wood. "The fact that he is not afraid to take a chance or make a mistake is one of the qualities I admire the most. He is willing to stick it out there and also willing to take the heat when it doesn't work. Barry's business and personal belief, if I stop to think about it, is to help people. Barry always, and I mean always, taught me that if we help people get their needs met, even if it means not getting the job. They will remember us, as a business and that we personally took the time to help them, we cared."

"Barry does many things today outside of business that helps others," said Wood, "including involvement with PSAI PSAI Pediatric Services of America Inc , local organizations and Cystic Fibrosis cystic fibrosis (sĭs`tĭk fībrō`sĭs), inherited disorder of the exocrine glands (see gland), affecting children and young people; median survival is 25 years in females and 30 years in males. . If anyone has earned the right to step back a little, it is him. I am a very task oriented person and don't spend much time smelling the roses. My expectations are always high. Barry has exceeded my expectations and is a 'lead by example' leader in which I am happy to be a part of what he has built."

"I've known Barry for 22 years since I became employed by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation," said Helen Johnson, who serves as the organization's Director of Field Management in California. "Barry and his wife lost their daughter to this insidious disease insidious disease (insid´ēus),

more than 30 years ago and honestly, it would have been quite understandable if they walked away completely from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That they did not do! It is a special measure of Barry's commitment that he has continued to faithfully work on behalf of the Foundation's efforts years after he lost a child to this disease!"

"Barry has a caring attitude for others and is always willing to go that 'extra mile' to give back to the community, knowing it will make the world a better place," she continued. After a reflective pause she added, "Barry is as good and decent as they come--and a very bright light in our world! I consider it an honor to have him as my friend."
