Professor Norbet Bachl Joins GTG Scientific Advisory Committee.

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Genetic Technologies Limited ("GTG") (Nasdaq:GENE) (ASX:GTG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Norbet Bachl to the GTG Scientific Advisory Committee.

Professor Bachl, M.D., is Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science and University Sports, and Head of the Department of Sport and Exercise Physiology, at the University of Vienna, Austria.

Professor Bachl also serves on multiple high-level sports committees. He is a member of the Scientific and Education Group of the International Olympic Committee Medical Commission; General Secretary of the European Olympic Committee Medical and Scientific Committee; President of the European Federation of Sports Medicine Associations; a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS); and Head of the Austrian Institute of Sports Medicine.

Professor Bachl's diverse interests allow him to help optimize the performance of athletes from a wide range of sports, as well as help improve the health of the general population. At the University of Vienna, his Faculty continues to provide professional expertise in the fields of exercise physiology, sports medicine, biomechanics, training optimisation and sports psychology.

Professor Bachl has also played a role in the development of methods to counteract the onset of muscle atrophy in cosmonauts/astronauts. These efforts involved trials performed aboard the space station Mir, and have resulted in the development of the MOTOMIR system, now also certified by NASA for space shuttle flights.

Professor Bachl is also active in the field of population health, preventative medicine and rehabilitation, with special interest in the management of obesity, Type 2 diabetes and the rehabilitation of patients following a range of cardiovascular disorders, including heart attack, left ventricular dysfunction, angina, high blood pressure and after heart transplantation.

Professor Bachl is already an advocate for the GTG Sports Gene Test and is assisting GTG to expand its genetic testing and licensing activities in Europe.
