BEDSIDE MAT

By using Skil-Care's full-size Soft-Fall Bedside Mat, caregivers can minimize the use of side rails while bedside protecting residents in an OBRA-approved manner. Made from 4[inches]-thick, high-density foam, the Soft-Fall Mat offers more impact-absorbing protection than standard mats. Specially sized to fit between the bed wheels, the Soft-Fall Mat, with its durable, wipe-clean vinyl cover, slips under the bed for convenient storage.

DEPARTURE WARNING ALARM Senior Technologies' WanderGuard Pre-Alert remote annunciator sends a warning before a wanderer exits. The light panel displays a "condition yellow" and emits a discreet beep when a monitored resident is within range of a Wander-Guard-equipped door. When the monitored resident moves away from the door, the alarm stops. If there is a departure, the annunciator displays a "condition red" and goes into full alert. The alarm is reset at the exit, not at the remote annunciator. Each Pre-Alert annunciator can monitor four exits.

ASSISTED LIVING EMERGENCY CALL

Three new products, Resident Check-In, Wireless Pendant Call, and Resident Information Display, have been introduced by Jeron Electronics Systems, Inc., for use in assisted living facilities.

Resident Check-In allows residents to register with the staff to verify their well-being. If a resident fails to register, his room number and the word "Check" will appear at the master station to alert staff to communicate with him. The Wireless Pendant enables a resident to summon help from anywhere in the apartment with the touch of a button, and the Resident Information Display instantly provides detailed personal records.

Single AbleRise fits twin, full and queen-size beds. The Double AbleRise[TM] is installed on both sides of the bed.

MOBILITY MONITORS

Senior Technologies' TABS restraint-free mobility monitors sound an alarm when a resident leaves a bed, chair, room or wheelchair. The TABS alarm is triggered when the resident moves beyond the caregiver-defined safety zone, so that staff are alerted when someone is at risk of falling. In many cases the alarm serves as a reminder for the patient to stay put until help arrives.

The TABS Select and TABS Voice+ models provide distinct alarm tones and connect with most nurse-call systems. LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR LOCKING PRODUCTS

Securitron has announced the MagnaCare[TM] Lifetime Replacement Warranty program for any electronic-locking product the company manufactures. The product will be replaced for any reason, at any time - no questions asked. Even damage resulting from improper use and abuse of the product by the customer is included in the warranty.

The MagnaCare program is designed to be attractive to the architect, specifier and facility, because they will never have to repurchase or replace the product.

NONSELECTIVE DOOR ALARM

Catch-All[TM], WanderGuard's non-selective door alarm, is designed to be used in areas where complete traffic control is desired, or on low-traffic doors for added security. The alarm will sound whenever the door is opened. The Catch-All monitor can be used to monitor fire exits, stairwells, employee entrances and other doors that require higher security levels.

DELAYED-EGRESS LOCKS

Senior Technologies introduces WanderGuard delayed-egress magnetic locks that meet National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code 101 requirements. EXIT ALARM

Secure Care Products' Advantage 1000 DE Exit Panel is two systems for the price of one. It can operate as a "smartloc" system, i.e., unlocked for normal traffic flow and locking only when a monitored wandering resident approaches the door. It can also perform a variety of perimeter alarm and access control functions by becoming a locked door during facility-selected hours and setting off an alarm if an unauthorized entry or exit occurs.

NURSE CALL SYSTEM

The Pro-Alert[TM] 640 Audio-Visual Nurse Call System from Jeron Electronic Systems, Inc., provides a total communication package that responds instantly to residents' needs. Calls are placed on the system by pressing a button or pulling a cord. All calls are displayed on the nurse master LED panel, while the LCD displays the highest and oldest call in English text. Each call is prioritized by time and type of call. The system distinguishes three priority levels: Routine, Urgent and Emergency.

Among the options that extend the versatility of the Pro-Alert 640 Nurse Call System are the Radio Pocket Page, which allows staff to instantly receive messages from anywhere in the facility, and the Omnilink[TM] Telephone Interface, which connects any facility phone to the Pro-Alert 640 so staff can to respond to patient calls while remaining mobile.
