Product Placement: Herbalife Ltd. is sponsoring Mexico's prime time telenovela A telenovela is a limited-run television serial melodrama of the type made famous in Latin America. The word is a portmanteau of tele, short for television, and novela ("novel/soap opera"). Telenovelas are essentially soap operas in miniseries format. , "La Fea mas Bella," the model for "Ugly Betty Ugly Betty is an Emmy-winning[1] American television comedy-drama series starring America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Rebecca Romijn and Vanessa Williams. The series premiered on September 28, 2006, on ABC in the United States and on Citytv in Canada. ." The lead character, Lety, played by Angelica Vale, will use Herbalife products in six episodes of the show as she undergoes a makeover. The episodes, produced by Mexico's Grupo Televisa, are expected to air in January 2007 across the U.S. on Univision Television Network. They will also show in some parts of Europe and most of South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .
