The new Biodex Gait Trainer is a specially designed treadmill with an instrumented deck that displays patient biofeedback biofeedback, method for learning to increase one's ability to control biological responses, such as blood pressure, muscle tension, and heart rate. Sophisticated instruments are often used to measure physiological responses and make them apparent to the patient, who  and allows comparison between actual football and the target gait parameter. The computer can calculate the correct belt speed and stride length, based on the patient's leg length. It also quantifies walking time and distance measurements, comparing performance to "normal" ranges based on sex and age.
