Prodea Systems Partners with Pandora Internet Radio, Bringing Their Personalized Music Service to the Prodea Systems Digital Life Command Center[TM] Service Delivery Platform.
PLANO, Texas & OAKLAND, Calif. -- Prodea Systems has announced an agreement with Pandora, to deliver its award-winning personalized Internet radio service to Prodea System's ground-breaking Digital Life Command Center platform. It is the industry's first end-to-end service delivery platform, enabling traditional facilities-based service providers or commercial entities desiring to establish a stronger relationship with the consumer, the ability to provide a host of applications and managed services direct to the consumer. Core to the platform's strength and differentiation, is the ability to offer true QoS service guarantees, the ability to deliver the services to the well-advertised 3-screen ecosystem (TV, PC and mobile platform) and a service management infrastructure that provides true transparency into the digital home environment.
"As Pandora continues its rapid growth, we are always looking at ways to expand our reach beyond the PC in order to make the service available to our users anytime and anywhere they want to listen to music," said Tim Westegren, founder of Pandora. "The connected home is a very important aspect of our Pandora Everywhere strategy and we are excited to be a part of Prodea's command center platform."
The Prodea Systems platform was designed with the understanding that consumers desire a carrier-grade experience as it relates to a variety of services delivered to their home. That includes Over the Top (OTT) services that leverage the broadband pipe into the home, but have historically been inadequate in their ability to offer experiences commensurate with the expectations of the consumer. The Prodea Systems Digital Life Command Center delivers on that promise by offering a mechanism for partners to plug into a managed service vehicle, bringing new and important applications to the home, to a variety of devices and domains, and with seamless integration and a consistent user interface.
"As we evaluated core music streaming services in the market, the decision to provide our customers' subscribers the Pandora Internet radio service as part of our platform offering, was an easy one," said Andy Melder, vice president of marketing for Prodea Systems. "Our philosophy centers on the core belief that consumers want choice and a 'no excuses' set of satisfying experiences that can be delivered to multiple domains in the consumer's life, with strong QoS mechanisms as a fundamental requirement. Bringing a well-known, unique offering and familiar brand like Pandora to the living room provides a user experience that we believe extends the value of our solution and emphasizes a truly seamless digital lifestyle."
Both Prodea Systems and Pandora will be present at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas Jan 8-11, 2009. Prodea Systems will be in suite 2310 in the Central Tower at the Las Vegas Hilton, showcasing Pandora running on their unique platform.
