Business Editors & High Tech Writers

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2001

Trivantis Corporation announced today that The Procter & Gamble Company selected Trivantis' Lectora Publisher software as a critical component for RapidLEARN, P&G's worldwide online e-learning system for all employees. Lectora is authoring and publishing software that will give P&G the ability to create custom e-learning content quickly and easily for the Internet, intranet, or CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

"Procter & Gamble's training frontier is finding ways to capture the mission-critical knowledge and expertise of our employees, converting that information into effective, proprietary e-learning content, and then deploying it quickly through RapidLEARN. P&G now has the ability to do exactly that with Lectora," said Larry W. Green, Manager of RapidLEARN and the Global Learning Center.

Green envisions RapidLEARN becoming an important source for employee training as P&G incorporates more distance online learning and blended learning Blended Learning is the combination of multiple approaches to learning. Blended learning can be accomplished through the use of 'blended' virtual and physical resources. A typical example of this would be a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions used  solutions into its training options. "P&G will move 50% of its training to web-based formats over the next three years to increase the speed and efficiency of our delivery while lowering training costs," said Green, "and Lectora will help us achieve that goal."

P&G's selection of Lectora for RapidLEARN was based on a variety of criteria including ease of use, delivery speed, test-building capabilities, and quality of content. Because Lectora is easy to learn and easy to use, yet high-end in the multimedia and graphics it supports, the software was ideal for P&G's needs. Lectora's integrated testing capability enables P&G's trainers to use a variety of question types in a single test while its "instant publishing" feature makes content Internet-ready in seconds without the support of outside programmers This is a list of programmers notable for their contributions to software, either as original author or architect, or for later additions.
