Evaluations of MoldWiz INT-1117EL added to the recipe for EPDM compounds, including metallocene catalyzed and silica-filled elastomers are said to have shown improved processing and release using this formula. A proprietary mix of alkanes and alkanols, off-white in color and soft solid at room temperature, the process aid INT-1117EL is said to be suitable for applications such as automotive mechanical rubber goods, footwear, electronic EPDM/plastics and other rubber/plastic combinations, according to the company. The process aid INT-1117EL is internal or roll milled into the formula at 0.5 to 2.5 phr. The company's extensive testing for metallocene catalyzed and silica-filled EPDM/PP compounds is said to have demonstrated reduced tack in milling and greatly improved release when molding. The company manufactures process-specific external release agents and internal lubricants for thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers. All of the company's products are said to be formulated from raw materials which comply with the chemical substance inventory list of TOSCA, DSL, MITI, EINECS, Australia and Korea.
