The CR3000 has been designed as a user-friendly user-friendly - Programmer-hostile. Generally used by hackers in a critical tone, to describe systems that hold the user's hand so obsessively that they make it painful for the more experienced and knowledgeable to get any work done.  automatic process control system operating in a Windows environment (1) (upper case "W") Refers to computers running under a Microsoft Windows operating system.

(2) (lower case "w") Also called a "windowing environment," it refers to any software that provides multiple windows on screen such as Windows, Mac, Motif and X Window.
. A standard PC, known as the Master PC, forms the front end of the system, which runs production management, security and historical data management applications. An optional SCA-DA (supervisory, control and data acquisition) package provides formula/recipe facilities, material information and various production schedules tailored to the requirements of the system. Color graphic displays of the plant and statistical information enable operators to see the status of the plant and details of the mixing. Within a CR3000 system there is only one Master PC, but for multiple production line applications there may be one or more operator interfaces or control PCs. The Master PC is connected via a network to an on-plant panel containing an operator interface with color VDU (Video Display Unit) Same as VDT.
