Pro-peace U.S. Catholics in Iraq. .


BAGHDAD--As the United Nations awaited Iraq's disclosure of weapons of mass destruction Weapons that are capable of a high order of destruction and/or of being used in such a manner as to destroy large numbers of people. Weapons of mass destruction can be high explosives or nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological weapons, but exclude the means of transporting or  on December 8, a delegation of 11 American Catholics left for Iraq to support a diplomatic, nonviolent end to the crisis.

"We are traveling to Iraq because we have family there," read a statement from the delegation, called Iraq Peace Journey. "As people of the Book and followers of the way of Jesus, we believe that all children of God are sisters and brothers."

Their two-week itinerary included visits to hospitals, orphanages, and schools as well as meetings with religious leaders, relief organizations, and government officials. Delegates included David Robinson David Robinson or Dave Robinson is a name shared by the following individuals:

Roy Bourgeois and a small group of supporters in 1990 to protest the training of mainly Latin American military officers, by the United States Army, at the School of the Americas (SOA). .

The group aimed "to listen to their stories, to create relationships between our peoples, and to witness to the fact that if we face our fears together, new opportunities for peace will unfold."
