Princeful and Anzum have Haydock date; Two former Stayers' Hurdle winners may clash on Saturday in Festival warm-up.

ANZUM and Princeful, former winners of the Bonusprint Stayers' Hurdle HURDLE, Eng. law. A species of sledge, used to draw traitors to execution.  at Cheltenham and both entered for this year's race, may clash at Haydock on Saturday.

The pair featured yesterday among the 11 possibles for Saturday's Tote Credit Club Premier Hurdle at Haydock and were also among the 56 entries revealed for the Stayers', in which other likely runners include last term's runner-up Limestone limestone, sedimentary rock wholly or in large part composed of calcium carbonate. It is ordinarily white but may be colored by impurities, iron oxide making it brown, yellow, or red and carbon making it blue, black, or gray. The texture varies from coarse to fine.  Lad.

Anzum is returning from exactly a year off the course, having last been seen in Saturday's race 12 months ago when he finished third behind Behrajan and Merry Masquerade, who could reoppose on Saturday.

 said yesterday: "The idea is to run Anzum at Haydock with the aim of preparing him for the Stayers' Hurdle.

"He's fit enough to run, although he normally needs his first outing of the season and he hasn't been doing any fancy gallops. He seems in good form."

Anzum scored a shock

40-1 victory in the 1999 Stayers' Hurdle when trained by David Nicholson David Nicholson may refer to:

, while Princeful was 16-1 when scoring from Splendid Thyne-also entered on Saturday-for Jenny Pitman in 1998.

Princeful is now in the care of Ron Hodges

    , having been with Amanda Bowlby when raced last season following a long absence through injury.

    Martin Pipe confirmed yesterday that Deano's Beeno-runner-up to exciting novice Baracouda in the Long Walk Hurdle-is also on course to run at Haydock.

    Baracouda, meanwhile, has the option of either the Stayers' Hurdle or the Royal & SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle at the Festival, although he is favourite in ante-post lists for the former.

    Martin Pipe, reporting Far Cry's progress on his website, said yesterday: "Far Cry is not very good, having come back with a little problem from Australia. He will not be running over hurdles this season, but we have every hope he will race again."
