Prime Minister receives UNCTAD Secretary-General.TUNIS, Nov. 23, 2009 (TAP) - Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi received, on Monday in Tunis, Mr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)Organ of the United Nations General Assembly, created in 1964 to promote international trade. Its highest policy-making body, the Conference, meets every four years; when the Conference is not in session, the (UNCTAD UNCTAD United Nations Conference on Trade & Development ). Mr. Panitchpakdi said he had reviewed with the Prime Minister Tunisia's efforts to prepare to the best for the post-crisis period. The talk provided the opportunity to highlight Tunisia's policy to reduce unemployment and create maximum jobs, particularly for university graduates. He added that Tunisia was ranked by UNCTAD's 2009 Report on information economy as the most "dynamic" country in the area of ICTs, expressing UNCTAD's readiness to bring necessary assistance to Tunisia, particularly in matters of ICTs.
