Prime Minister Gruevski at EPP congress.

Macedonian Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski participated in the 20th Congress of the European People's Party in Marseille on 7 December attended by the heads of state and government from the political parties that are members of the European People's Party.

Gruevski discussed in his address the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia and the honoring of the judgment of the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Macedonia's path toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration represents a small yet significant contribution to Europe's progress and will benefit most the entire region, Gruevski stressed and added that it is rational and right for the European Council to accept the recommendation of the European Commission for setting Macedonia a date for opening membership negotiations.
