The Archbishop of Armagh Today there are two people who hold the title of Archbishops of Armagh:
  • Archbishop of Armagh (Roman Catholic)
  • Archbishop of Armagh (Church of Ireland)
Both bear the title Primate of All Ireland for their respective churches.
, Sean Brady, who only days earlier hit the headlines by criticising the Government's handling of security force collusion with loyalist killers in Northern Ireland, made a direct appeal for the Provisionals to wind up their operations for good.

"I'm calling on people to forsake once and for all the armed struggle," said Archbishop Brady. "We must dispel any ambivalence in our own community about the presence or actions of non-democratic and totally unaccountable armed groups in our own community" (The Universe, May 16, 2004).
