Price Waterhouse leases 35,000 at Americas Tower.

In the largest office leasing transactions consummated this year in Manhattan, Price Waterhouse will relocate its New York Practice Office to Americas Tower, the 1 million-square-foot office building at 1177 Avenue of the Americas.

Under terms of the 15-year agreement, Price Waterhouse will lease 350,000 square feet over 15 floors in the building. The move is scheduled to take place during July, 1993.

The mega-lease is the first for the building whose construction was halted for a time due to a legal battle.

Price Waterhouse's New York Practice Office is currently located at 153 East 53rd Street, in Manhattan. The firm employs 1,300 people in its New York-based practice offices. Price Waterhouse launched its U.S. operations in New York over 100 years ago, in 1890.

KG A&A Corp. was represented in the transaction by Cushman & Wakefield and legal counsel, Davis & Gilbert. Price Waterhouse was represented by Eastdil Realty and legal counsel Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. Interior Space International is designing the space for Price Waterhouse, which will be built out by Turner Interiors.

Americas Tower was designed by the architectural firm Swanke Hayden Connell, and built by KM/Turner, A Joint Venture. Offering some of the most advanced engineering in office buildings today, Americas Tower is made of structural steel and utilizes mechanical-electrical systems which provides zoned controls. The building was officially opened in April.

KG A&A Corp. is a subsidiary of internationally known and respected Kumagai Gumi Co., Ltd., which is involved in many diverse and specialized building and civil engineering projects worldwide.

Price Waterhouse is a leading worldwide professional organization of accountants and auditors, tax adviers and management consultants.
