A characteristic part of classical ballet, it includes an adagio, or slow dance, by the ballerina and her partner; solo variations by the male dancer and then the ballerina; and a coda, or from Le Corsaire at the first-ever Manchester International Festival. The two super-dancers spark off each other's talents--Valdes skims the stage with speedy footwork, soars high, and balances for an eternity, while Acosta unleashes macho, fire-cracking technique and charisma.
