In the survey, 71 percent of adults agreed: "Anyone can wear pearls!" This news is just in time for gift giving as shoppers are seeking that one unique item for a special someone that is so hard to shop for. Even engagement rings with prominent pearl settings are a popular choice among trendsetting brides-to-be.

AmericanPearl.com, aided by online survey company Zoomerang, found that over 55 percent of those surveyed felt pearls were an "appropriate gift for weddings, engagements and anniversaries," while 44 percent concluded that pearls would be the perfect "gift for any occasion."
