The Press Club of Cleveland's annual Media Professionals Conference features an all-star group of reporters, editors, writers and other professionals who will educate and elucidate their brethren as well as public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most , corporate communications Corporate communications is the process of facilitating information and knowledge exchanges with internal and key external groups and individuals that have a direct relationship with an enterprise.  and others interested in enhancing their skills.

"This is an excellent way for anyone in journalism, PR, corporate or nonprofit communications to learn more about their craft without spending hundreds of dollars on an out-of-town conference," said Dan Jacobs from Smart Business Network, conference chairman.

For the first time, this event will take place on a weekday: Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Leading off the conference will be a robust discussion titled, "Why Media In Cleveland Doesn't Cover the Media In Cleveland," moderated by longtime Cleveland writer and editor Mike Roberts. Other panelists include John Butte Butte, city, United States

The luncheon keynote features Rolling Stone Magazine contributing editor Evan Wright, author of "Generation Kill" and 2004 National Magazine Award winner for reporting of "The Killer Elite."

Another expected draw is Ted Gup, author of Pulitzer Prize nominated "The Book of Honor: Covert Lives and Classified Deaths at the CIA CIA: see Central Intelligence Agency.
