Sharks ink defenseman Traverse to deal

 re-signed defenseman Patrick Traverse Patrick Traverse (born March 14, 1974 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a professional hockey player currently playing for the San Jose Sharks organization. He is currently playing for the Sharks' AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks.  to a two-year American Hockey League

The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league in North America, that serves as the primary developmental circuit for the National Hockey
 contract. Traverse, an 11-year NHL NHL Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, see there  veteran, completed last season with Worcester after being acquired from the Canadiens organization for defenseman Mathieu Biron.

Tom Poti signed a four-year, 14-million dollar deal with the Capitals Sunday, a deal that will pay the Worcester native $3.5 million per year. The Associated Press reported previously the deal was for a total of $3.5 million.

GOLF

Sutton's Buffone earns championship bid

Seven-year-old Justin Buffone of Sutton carded a 3-under 33 to win his age bracket in the US Kids Golf World Championship qualifier at Stow Acres, a title his twin brother Jarod won last year. Jarod finished third with a 35. By finishing first, Justin won an invitation to the championship Aug. 2-5 in Pinehurst, N.C.
