Preservation Sciences Announces Rust Inhibitor Test Results from Department of Defense and Another Laboratory.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Preservation Sciences, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PSVI PSVI Post Schema Validation Infoset ), a research and development company that manufactures and markets preservative preservative

Any of numerous chemical additives used to prevent or slow food spoilage caused by chemical changes (e.g., oxidation, mold growth) and maintain a fresh appearance and consistency. Antimycotics (e.g.

A typical good corrosion inhibitor will give 95% inhibition at concentration of 80 ppm, and 90% at 40 ppm.

in assisting the Department of Defense industrial facilities with reducing or eliminating emissions and waste associated with manufacturing, repair and rework activities. Naval Station Mayport Naval Station Mayport is a major U.S. Navy base in northern Duval County, Florida. Since its commissioning in December 1942, NS Mayport has grown to become the third largest fleet concentration area in the United States.  Regional Support Group requested that Preservation Sciences' flash rust inhibitor be evaluated.

The test results proved that the MM 818 technology passed eight American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM ASTM

) tests for a functional powder coating. One of the most important tests was the Adhesion test to determine if the MM 818 technology had any negative effect on paint adhesion. MM 818 passed two ASTM adhesion tests. The first was ASTM D3359 which measures adhesion with tape. The second successful adhesion test was ASTM D4541 which is the pull off strength for adhesion.

Preservation Sciences also ran independent studies to prove the environmentally safe claim regarding VOC (Vertical Online Community) See vertical portal.  (Volatile Organic Compounds volatile organic compound Environment Any toxic cabon-based (organic) substance that easily become vapors or gases–eg, solvents–paint thinners, lacquer thinner, degreasers, dry cleaning fluids ). Columbia Analytical Services, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida ran the environmental analysis. The test results run on August 18, 2004 prove that the product is VOC free (0.00 mg/L VOC's detected).

"The U.S. Navy tests give independent verification that the MM 818 technology meets at least 8 ASTM standards for functional powder coatings. These test results enable us to continue to advance the testing with the U.S. Navy, and it also enables us to now sell the product into the commercial marketplace," Gary Harrison, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated.

"The environmental aspects of being VOC free and non-toxic will become bigger and bigger as more regulations restrict the use of phosphates, xylenes, acids and petroleum-based products," Mr. Harrison further explained. "With these test results we can actively market the product to paint contractors and water blasters of bridges, ships, oil platforms, pipes and other metal structures," Mr. Harrison stated.
