Primus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Scottsdale, AZ, recently debuted a product called Limbrel, the first prescription product developed to safely meet the nutritional requirements of patients with osteoarthritis (OA) through dual inhibition (COX + LOX) of arachidonic acid metabolism and antioxidant action. Limbrel contains flavocoxid, a proprietary blend of natural ingredients from phytochemical food source materials. Flavocoxid is comprised primarily of flavonoids, such as baicalin and catechin, and Limbrel provides levels of these flavonoids to meet the distinctive nutritional requirements of people with OA and cannot be obtained through simply changing the diet.
