Cox was a state wrestling champion at 106 pounds as a sophomore, 112 as a junior and 119 as a senior. He was chosen as The Register-Guard's male prep athlete of the year Athlete of the Year

 as a senior in 1997 when he was ranked No. 1 in the nation at his weight class.

Richards was a first-team all-Midwestern League softball selection in all four years with the Lancers and was the league most valuable player as a senior in 1992. She helped the Lancers win the Class 4A state championship in 1991 and 1992.

Flora, a 1980 graduate, was a three-sport athlete for the Lancers. DeMarco has been a school booster since it opened in 1966.

LES SCHWAB Les Schwab (October 3 1917 - May 18 2007) was the founder of Les Schwab Tire Centers, a chain Modern Tire Dealer called "arguably the most respected independent tire store chain in the United States.  BOWL SET: Nine Midwestern League players were selected to play for the South team in the Les Schwab Bowl, an all-star football game featuring graduating seniors from around the state.

The game, formerly known as the Oregon Bowl, has been scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at 7 p.m. at PGE Park PGE Park (formerly Civic Stadium, a name still used by locals; originally Multnomah Stadium) is a stadium located in Portland, Oregon (United States). Sheldon, which reached the Class 4A state championship game, will be represented by wide receiver Zach Moran, running back Brent Andrews and lineman Orca Merwin.

Thurston defensive back Steve Farley and lineman Dustin McCluskey are also on the team.

Linemen Jonathan Baggett of Marshfield, Chris Ware of South Eugene and Matt Lake of Willamette will play along with Churchill defensive back Joel Worcester.

Kolb was a second-team all-Midwestern League selection in each of the past two seasons for the Axemen. In addition, Kolb is a standout in track who finished first in the 200 meters and second in the 100 at last year's district meet.

Kolb will join Sheldon graduate Jennifer Hull on the Falcons' roster. Hull was the starting goalkeeper for Seattle Pacific in 2001, when the Falcons finished 8-10-1.

ALEX OWRE, a senior at Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. CHELSEA PRAUS, a junior at North Bend High School, scored 20 points against North Eugene on Thursday to lead the Bulldogs to their first and only Midwestern League victory of the season. Praus, a 5-foot-9 wing, finished third in league scoring with a 14.3 average, scoring 314 points in 22 games.
