Premier Signs Multi-Source Agreements for Sutures, Endomechanicals and Related Products.

OAK BROOK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2004

Many GPOs are funded by administrative fees that are actually paid by the vendors.  of Premier, Inc. has awarded multi-source contracts to six companies for sutures, endomechanicals and related products. The three-year agreements will be effective beginning April 1, 2004 through March 31, 2007. The annual estimated sales volume for all product categories is $550 million.

The companies and the products awarded Premier contracts include:

-- Applied Medical (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) for

endomechanical kits, ligation systems and trocars

-- ConMed Corporation (Utica, NY) for endomechanical kits,

ligation systems, trocars, endomechanical and skin staplers

-- Ethicon Products (Somerville, NJ) for a full line of suture

products

-- Ethicon-Endo Surgery, Inc. (Cincinnati, OH) for a full line of

endomechanical products

-- Surgical Specialties, Inc. (Reading, PA) for ophthalmic

sutures

-- Teleflex Medical (Research Triangle Park Research Triangle Park, research, business, medical, and educational complex situated in central North Carolina. The new suture and endomechanical contract portfolio has been developed in cooperation with Premier members to deliver increased flexibility and improved pricing.
