Premier Inc. Promotes Susan DeVore to New Position of Chief Operating Officer.

In her new role, DeVore will lead the continued integration of the offerings of Premier's three operating units operating unit

As president of Purchasing Partners since August 2003, DeVore worked with her team to develop and implement a three-year Transformation Plan designed to dramatically increase returns to the alliance's shareholders - approximately 200 not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare systems. Purchasing Partners accomplished the goals of the plan within two years. Since DeVore's arrival, Premier has delivered $760 million in cash distributions to its members.

During the same period, Premier moved into the top place in the industry among group purchasing organizations A group purchasing organization is an entity that leverages the purchasing power of a group of businesses to obtain discounts from vendors based on the collective buying power of the GPO members. Many GPOs are funded by administrative fees that are actually paid by the vendors.  as the value of supplies purchased through its contracts increased from $17 billion to $25 billion.

DeVore has been named to Modern Healthcare's list of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare and to the magazine's list of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare.
