 plc (London, England) has made public the details of initiatives that have consolidated the company's strength in the burgeoning markets of Central and South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and China. John Winkie, regional director, Asia, comments that, "Once China enters the WTO in 2002, we expect to see a gradual relaxing of trading laws which will put [us] in an excellent position to service blue chip customers, such as Philips and Motorola, which are now investing millions of pounds into factories in the East Asian region.
