Premier Beverage Co. Advocates Family Talks to Prevent Underage Drinking and Drunk Driving This Holiday Season.

Company-Funded PSA Seeks to Combat Holiday Drunk Driving

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Talking with your children about making smart choices during the holidays is the message of a new public service announcement (PSA) produced by Premier Beverage Co., one of the largest wine and spirits distributors in Florida and a member of The Charmer Sunbelt Group. The PSA, which features the voice of Premier Beverage Company President, Bob Drinon, will run on radio stations throughout the state of Florida, urging parents to remind their family members to adhere to beverage alcohol laws and reinforcing that 21 is the legal drinking age.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Americans who drink and drive make the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve one of the most deadly and dangerous seasons due to alcohol-related crashes. "Everyone must work together to safe guard our families and communities," says Mr. Drinon, who together with The Charmer Sunbelt Group have made fighting underage drinking and drunk driving a top priority.

Recently, Premier Beverage and The Charmer Sunbelt Group joined The Federal Trade Commission, The Century Council, Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America, the nation's leading distillers and Florida's retail licensees in the national "We Don't Serve Teens" campaign to prevent underage drinking. According to the FTC, Most teens that drink get alcohol from "social sources" at parties, from older friends, from their parents' cabinet. Teen drinking is linked to injury and risky behavior. In 2006, 63 percent of eighth graders report that alcohol is "fairly easy" or "very easy" to get. http://www.dontserveteens.gov/

Premier Beverage Company and The Charmer Sunbelt Group join supplier partners, customers, community leaders, regulators, law enforcement, school administrators, parents and the media to publicly encourage the legal and responsible sales and consumption of beverage alcohol. "Simply put; it's the right thing to do," says Mr. Drinon.

Nationally, The Charmer Sunbelt Group has been recognized by community organizations, as well as colleagues in the beverage alcohol industry, for creating and initiating educational projects that support the communities in which its companies operate, keeps roads safe and educates children about making safe and smart choices. "We applaud Premier Beverage Company and Bob Drinon for their proactive commitment to Florida as a community partner," says Charles Merinoff, Vice Chairman and CEO, The Charmer Sunbelt Group.

From our family at Premier Beverage Company and The Charmer Sunbelt Group to yours, have a joyous, festive and safe holiday and a Happy New Year.
