Precyse Solutions Announces More Staff Additions.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 2003

Precyse Solutions today announced that four key positions have been filled by the recent appointments of Alex MacDonald as East Coast Regional Sales Manager; Laurie S. Thor as National Director, Coding, Consulting and Education Services; Ann Shearer as Southeast Client Strategy Director; and Wendy Cain as National Sales Manager for Oncology Data Management Services.

Alex MacDonald, RHIA 

As East Coast regional sales manager, based in Scarborough, Maine, MacDonald will be responsible for sales of HIM services as well as Precyse's CAMT product and compliance services to hospitals from Maine to Florida.

MacDonald's mix of professional sales as well as health information management experience includes sales positions with Siemen's Medical Solutions and Health Services Corporation, Shared Medical Systems and GTE Health Systems. MacDonald's healthcare provider experience was with St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., as a director and oncology research coordinator. He will report to DeLaine Russell, vice president of Sales.

Laurie S. Thor, RHIA

As Precyse's national director, Coding, Consulting and Education Services, Thor will be providing division-wide support to Precyse's CCE product lines for the CCE management and staff, education/training/helpdesk services, oversight to coding compliance activities and QA activities, and oversight to auditing sampling processes. In addition Thor will assist in the evaluation and development of HIM services. Based in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Thor will report to Yvonne Bokelman, group vice president, HIM Services.

Thor joins Precyse after recently performing as an independent HIM consultant. Prior to that Thor was the Vice President for HIM Product Management for QuadraMed(R) Corporation (QMDC.PK), where she was responsible for the HIM product lines, including coding, data collection and compliance. She oversaw the design and launch of Web-enabled products, APC grouping and outpatient compliance tools. She has held positions as a HealthCare Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Precision Health Systems and several hospital HIM director roles.

Ann Shearer, RHIT 

In her new position as Southeast Client Strategy Director for Precyse, Shearer will be directly responsible for maintaining current business partner relationships and business growth opportunities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Shearer will report to Gloria Wakefield, RHIA, Precyse's regional vice president-East.

With 30 years HIM experience Shearer has the distinction of having held one of the first DRG Coordinator positions in the country. Her HIM background includes Director Medical-Legal Affairs, HCA Memorial Medical Center, Jacksonville; HIM consulting with Pyramid Health Solutions; independent contractor with Mayo Clinic Jacksonville; and Operations Manager with Hospital Correspondence Corporation (HCC). When HCC merged with QuadraMed in 1998, Shearer joined the QuadraMed sales team handling special projects, MPI clean-up, outsourcing of radiology, business office file room management and correspondence management product lines.

Wendy Cain, CTR 

As founder and chief administrator of Precyse Solutions' Oncology Data Management Division for the past seven years, Cain has been responsible for all operations, sales, quality improvement, training, marketing, recruitment and finances of the product line. Based in Augusta, Georgia, Cain will report to DeLaine Russell, vice president of Sales.

Cain has more than 13 years experience in developing and directing Oncology programs. She has served in senior level positions throughout her career in the field of Oncology Data Management and brings a wealth of knowledge, information and strategies for all types of cancer programs. In addition Cain has implemented innovative and cost-effective registry practices, which have improved the quality and utilization of cancer data at client institutions across the United States, as well as increased their approval status with the American College of Surgeons. Cain has also completed training under the Commission on Cancer and is a recognized instructor and field consultant.
