Prayers of thanksgiving come from many faiths.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, we share these thoughts on gratitude from the world's religions offered at last year's Interfaith Prayer Service. This year's Thanksgiving service, featuring an all-community invitational interfaith choir, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Central Presbyterian Church Located on the northeast corner of Brazos and Bois d'Arc (now Eighth Street), Central Presbyterian Church in Austin Texas traces its roots to the organization of the first Presbyterian church in Austin on Sunday, October 13, 1839. A Hindu follower shared: "Krishna, Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, saints and sages of all religions, I bow before you and am most grateful for this moment in God."

"I find I must be grateful for everything or for nothing," a Quaker said. "I am grateful for all, as God is everywhere. I am grateful for any moments during which I feel the presence of spirit, true and sweet, for knowing, loving, being loved; for being led out of resentments, hurts and sorrows."

Buddhism teaches, "The greatest merits of faith are accepting the compassion of the Buddha in all phenomena with gratitude and joy and adopting this attitude daily in creating a hopeful way of life."

A Unity parishioner beckoned to the infinite spirit: "My heart is grateful for the divine order The Divine Order is a fictional religion on the science fiction series LEXX.

The Divine Order is a fictional religion, created by the last of the Insect Civilization, as a means of controlling the human population of the Light Universe, and ultimately use them to
, beauty and creativity that flows throughout our day, whether we are conscious of it or not.'

God of faith, you give us hope in times of struggle and grief. For your steadfast presence and encouragement, thank you."
