Pratt & Whitney Canada Singapore Facility Designated a Centre of Excellence for Auxiliary Power Units - APU.

Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC) is pleased to announce that its Singapore Service Centre has been designated as a Centre of Excellence for auxiliary power units (APUs). The facility offers a comprehensive range of repair and overhaul services for the PW901A and Hamilton Sundstrand APS3200 APUs used on the Airbus 319/320 and 321 aircraft families.

P&WC established a presence in Singapore in 1983 to support P&WC engine customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In 1996, the Singapore Service Centre was opened to offer PW100 engine repair and overhaul services.

The facility's range of services has since been significantly expanded. In addition to PW100 and APU repair and overhaul, these services include: Hot Section Inspections (HSI's) for PT6 engines (including twin pacs(R)), PW150A, JT15D and PW200 engines; individual component repairs; fuel nozzles cleaning, testing, overhaul and exchange; engine leasing, exchange and sales; spare parts distribution; Mobile Repair Team support; and a variety of customised maintenance plans, known as Fleet Management Programs.

Located in the Loyang Industrial Estate near Singapore Changi Airport, the Singapore Service Centre currently has 82 skilled employees. It is equipped with test cells for PW100, PW901A and APS3200 engines.

Corporate, regional airline, turboshaft, government and agricultural customers in Asia-Pacific are further supported by P&WC's Service Centre in Brisbane, Australia, as well as by some 25 Field Support Representatives (FSR's) located in the region.

Hamilton Sundstrand has been in the large commercial transport APU business since the delivery of the first APS2000 APU in 1989. The APS3200 is the company's largest APU model, used on the Airbus A320 family of aircraft operated by many of the world's leading airlines.
