Pratt & Whitney Canada Achieves 1,000th Delivery Milestone With PW300 Series Engines.

Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC) celebrated a new exciting milestone with the recent delivery of the 1,000th PW300 series turbofan engine. The 1,000th engine, a PW306A model, was delivered to Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation at a special ceremony to mark the milestone at P&WC's Longueuil, Quebec headquarters on July 11. The engine will be installed on a Gulfstream G200 business jet.

The initial selection of the PW306A in 1994 marked a significant change for P&WC. It was the first time that the company was responsible for supplying a complete power plant system to a customer, with the NORDAM Group of Tulsa providing the nacelle, engine build unit and thrust reverser. The PW306A engine also includes risk-sharing partnerships with MTU of Germany, supplying the low-pressure turbine and Hamilton Sundstrand with the electronic control.

Since entry to service in 1992, the PW300 series of engines has accumulated close to 2,000,000 hours with more than 200 operators worldwide. The PW300 family offers a takeoff thrust range from 4,600 to 7,000 lbs. in eight engine variants.

PW300 series engines are supported by P&WC's comprehensive customer support services including an extensive network of field service professionals, factory-based technical support, 24-hour help line, dedicated customer training centres and service facilities.
