), Austin, Texas, which picked up two trophies in the 1999 competition. "A lot of association publications are understaffed, and a lot of times you don't get the recognition you deserve from members," she says. "When you win, the membership does stand up and take notice."

APRO was recognized for its magazine and annual report, winning trophies in both categories.

Runners-up received a certificate of achievement and were honored, along with trophy winners, at ASAE's 1999 Management and Technology Conference in Indianapolis.

More than 400 organizations submitted 944 entries in 1999, which were placed in 23 categories. Each of the categories was divided into two sections. Section A was for associations with a total budget of less than $2 million. Section B designated associations with a total budget of $2 million or more. The "golden shoestring" category was for associations with total budgets of $250,000 or less.
